20120 Olympic Village
Nowhere does the enormity and scale of staging and organizing the Olympic Games become more apparent than when looking at the statistics for the Olympic village. More than 17,000 athletes and officials will be housed, fed, watered and supplied with every medical and social facility they require to encourage the displays of excellence that is essential for a successful Olympics.
There are 31 residential buildings at the 'Cidade Olimpica' in Rio and the Village will need to serve the complex dietary requirements of elite athletes looking to win Gold medals and break world records. The infrastructure of the village has to be second to none, with all the latest hi tech facilities at hand as well as a well oiled administrative system to ensure that all the participants know their schedules and arrive at their individual venues on time, having had the opportunity to hone their skills at a range of training facilities.
