Louis Smith

Louis Smith

Great Britain are in the rare position of having the luxury of a male gymnast with a competitive chance in one of the most favoured disciplines at any Olympic Games.

In 2008 in Beijing Louis was the first Briton to win a gymnastic medal since Walter Tysall in 1908. He qualified in fifth position for the final of the pommel horse and improved to third place winning a bronze. In 2012, Smith took silver in the pommel horse event and bronze in the team event.
