Rebecca Adlington

Rebecca Adlington saw overnight success after competing in Beijing at the age of 19 and winning gold medals in both the 400m and 800m freestyle competition. Her 800m win saw her break Janet Evans¢€™ World Record which had stood for an astonishing 19 years. These statistics immediately promoted her to the rank of most successful female British swimmer ever and she went on to win bronze medals at the 2012 Olympics in the 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle.
